Publishing Code of Ethics

Jurnal Sains Terapan & Profesi Pendidikan (JSTPP) follows generally accepted standards of publication ethics and refers to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The provisions below bind the publisher, the editors, the reviewers, and the authors.

Publisher

Lembaga Kesejahteraan Umat guarantees the independence of editorial decisions. Commercial considerations, personal ties, and outside pressure must not influence the assessment of a manuscript. The publisher maintains the means for published articles to remain accessible in the long term.

Editors

Editors judge manuscripts on scholarly merit alone, without regard to the gender, belief, institutional origin, or standing of the author. They keep manuscripts confidential and discuss them only with those involved in the review. An editor with a conflict of interest in a manuscript hands it to another editor. Decisions to accept or decline rest on the reviewers' reports and on the fit between the manuscript and the aims and scope of the journal.

Reviewers

Reviewers help the editors reach a decision and help authors improve their work. Assessments are objective and reasoned, never personal. A reviewer who does not command the topic, or cannot finish on time, should say so at once. A manuscript under review is a confidential document and may not be used for private advantage.

Authors

Authors warrant that their manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Data must be defensible, and authors should be prepared to supply raw data on request. Everyone who made a substantial contribution is named as an author; lesser contributions belong in the acknowledgements. Authors must disclose funding sources and any conflict of interest. An author who later discovers a significant error in a published article is obliged to notify the editors so that a correction or retraction can be issued.

Suspected Misconduct

Suspected breaches of ethics are investigated by the editors, who first ask the parties concerned for an explanation. Where a breach is established, the editors may publish a correction, an expression of concern, or retract the article with a statement of the reason.
