Peer Reviewers Policy

Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Sains Terapan & Profesi Pendidikan (JSTPP) passes through two stages of assessment.

The first is a desk review by the editors, who check the fit between the manuscript and the aims and scope of the journal, the completeness of its structure, its compliance with the author guidelines, and the similarity score returned by Turnitin. A manuscript that fails these checks is returned to the author without being sent to reviewers.

The second is double-blind peer review. The identities of authors and reviewers are withheld from each other throughout. Each manuscript is assessed by at least two reviewers who command the topic and who are not from the same institution as the author.

Reviewers weigh originality, the clarity of the research problem, the soundness of the method, the sufficiency of the supporting data, the depth of the discussion, and the quality and currency of the references. Assessments are recorded on the journal's review form, which comprises a scoring rubric, comments for the author, and confidential comments for the editor.

Review is scheduled to conclude within four weeks of a reviewer accepting the assignment. On the strength of the reports, the editor reaches one of four decisions: accept, accept with minor revisions, major revisions with a further round of review, or decline. The decision and the reviewers' comments are conveyed to the author through the system.

Manuscripts requiring major revision are re-reviewed by the same reviewers where they are willing. The final decision rests with the editorial board.
