Screening Plagiarism

Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Sains Terapan & Profesi Pendidikan (JSTPP) is checked for similarity with Turnitin before it is passed to reviewers. The check is run by the editorial office, not by the author, and its result informs the desk review decision.

The accepted similarity threshold is at most 20 percent, calculated excluding the reference list and excluding quotations that are properly marked and attributed. A manuscript above that figure is returned to the author for revision and re-checked before it enters peer review.

Similarity concentrated in a single source is treated more strictly than similarity spread thinly across many, even where the overall figure is the same. The editors decline manuscripts showing signs of deliberate plagiarism, duplicate publication, or the splitting of one study into several articles without defensible reason.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that every source used is cited in the style of the American Psychological Association, seventh edition.
