Screening Plagiarism

Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Pendidikan Sosial dan Peradaban (JPSP) is checked for similarity with Turnitin before it moves to peer review. The check is run by the editorial board with the reference list and direct quotations excluded.

The threshold applied at JPSP is 20 percent. Manuscripts at or below 20 percent proceed to review. Manuscripts above it are returned to the author together with the similarity report for revision within a deadline set by the editor. A manuscript still above the threshold after two rounds of revision is rejected.

Besides the overall figure, editors also consider how much similarity comes from any single source. Manuscripts showing indications of plagiarism, duplicate submission, or data manipulation are rejected and the authors informed in writing, in line with the JPSP Publishing Code of Ethics.
