Technological developments have transformed various aspects of human life, including learning activities in higher education. The presence of internet technology enables students to access information easily through digital devices, one of which is Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technology such as ChatGPT. The increasing use of ChatGPT in academic environments has influenced students’ learning patterns and the utilization of digital technology in education. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the factors influencing the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) ChatGPT among university students in Garut Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) with SPSS software. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 391 respondents selected using the Slovin formula. The results showed that several factors influenced the utilization of AI ChatGPT among students, including learning independence, information quality, thinking ability, learning motivation, academic integrity, and reading interest. Among these factors, learning independence and thinking ability were identified as the dominant factors influencing the utilization of AI ChatGPT in academic activities.
